LATEST POST: How to Speak clearlY

Nathanial Totten

Having experienced the consequences of policy non-disclosure and arbitrary enforcement measures by Elevation Church, it is more important to me than ever before that churches be transparent regarding the inclusion of LGBTQ+ members and their ability to participate. While many churches like Elevation reach a lot of people with a "come as you are" marketing slogan, they operate in a way that introduces an unseen asterisk: "come as you are... so that you can see the error of your ways". For LGBTQ+ individuals, this promulgates spiritual trauma and exclusion often followed by an exit from the faith community. It is imperative, for the sake of LGBTQ+ lives, that Church Clarity exists to combat undisclosed exclusion, holding Evangelical churches accountable for their indiscretion.
