You’ll start noticing more content on our blog and social channels that will highlight the work of our Verified Clear member churches. In a world that increasingly demands transparency and authenticity, we believe that this collective of churches represent the future of Protestant Christianity. We’re excited to highlight their work throughout our platform as we partner with them to encourage more churches to follow their lead. By emphasizing these churches, our aim is to see this digital network expand so that people who are looking for a church to attend, can do so with peace of mind, knowing what they are signing up for before they set foot in the door.
Why are we doing this? Let’s start from the beginning.
Our scoring process has evolved considerably in the two years since we first launched. What started as a purely crowdsourced database of churches that our team would review and score, according to publicly available information has grown into a resource that allows Churches to voluntarily opt-in and proactively deliver clarity. We’ve shared this graphic on social media to highlight the difference between the two ways of scoring:
We now have over 500 churches that have completed our policy survey, indicating that they agree that Clarity is Reasonable. These churches represent the new standard of clarity we have set out to create. It is free to be scored Verified Clear, and we make every effort to encourage people to ensure a church is scored Verified Clear prior to attending.
Last year, we introduced a pilot for current Verified Clear churches called Church Clarity Membership. This is an optional program that invites Verified Clear churches to further support our mission (Membership costs $29/month), establish a more visible affinity among like-minded churches, and enables additional engagement and promotion to Church Clarity users (e.g. they are posted on our homepage).
