Meet a Church Clarity Volunteer: Jess Kotnour

Jess Lee

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Church Clarity.

Church Clarity is a crowd-sourced database that aims to increase the level of clarity throughout churches. The public submits churches (that's the crowdsourced part), and our team of volunteers *scores* their submissions, designating a unique Clarity Score for each church. Scoring a single church can take five minutes, or it can take more than half an hour, depending on how much investigative work required. There's SO much work that goes on behind the scenes and we want to take the time to acknowledge the individuals who make this valuable public resource possible.

Jess (they/them) is a veteran scorer who has been with us from the early days (circa later 2017). In this short video, they talk about why they became a volunteer, their church background, and how they've helped their church through its discernment process. They're awesome and we love their witty, down-to-earth, willing-to-help spirit. Check out their op-ed for Kenyon Collegian calling for clarity for a campus ministry.

And if you want to be a volunteer, sign up here.
